Although, my new knife doesnt slice through falling paper (i spent most of the time trying to make the paper fall straight), it is none the less a knife that is deadly sharp. It was like i was in the Goodfellas movie slicing garlic wafer thin =) Its so sharp and effortless, that once i was done with the garlic, i needed more stuff to chop, slice and mince. so i found a potato, skinned it, chopped it into wedges, sliced the wedges into chips and then minced the chips into little tiny potato bits.  mmm, what to do with minced potato and garlic..

Potato Pancakes
1 minced potato
1 minced clove of garlic
1 egg
finely sliced shallot
wasabi powder mixed in mirin
add flour to achieve pancake consistency.

Fry it up in little pikelets, add sweetened miso, bonito flakes and jap mayo on top.

Happy 21st Vivien! It was a grand party, with great plans, with layers and layers of contingency plans. Its most like prison break, with things slipping up and plans being changed, improvising solutions and all, he was either a very good planner, or a very paranoid person =) So glad that you were truly surprised by it all, i will have to watch the video of that one day. It truly is a compliment to your intellect that we (especially Matty) were constantly afraid that you were catching on to the whole sham. Ure a great gal, so deserve a great party, obviously =)

I would like to thanks Matty Foster for actually letting me cook for this party. A rogue engineer who says he'll prepare food for 50 even though he's never actually cooked much before is not a prime candidate for catering your gf's surprise 21st. And also thanks for everyone kinds words of praise on the night, ive never had people refer to my food as "favourite" before.

ps: if any wants recipes or something, i think some1 may have asked, let me know
