decided to have a stab at bringing christianity into office talk. I figured, hey i'm kewl with it.. and i'm the only here that stands to be offended and i understand the greys in the topic that it's not going to happen. Though i'm not offended, i got a little energetic about it so i figured i should vent, and also jot down a few interesting points.
1) "your belief should not be based on whether they (the apostle) were lying or not"
errrr. if the apostles lied about the ressurection, my entire belief system is unfounded and wrong. So in effect it hinges purely on my belief that they didn't lie about it
2) "jesus taught other things beside the ressurection, good morals, doing good things"
i do belief the entire christian faith is based on teh ressurection, again if the apostles lied and the ressurection didnt happen then i would concede that my faith holds no water and merely a physcological yearning for a higher power like zeus
I dont know why this guy found it disturbing that this is the christian belief, its a system of absolute truth, based on one key assumption
It happened or it did not happen.
